Senior Lecturer

Biography

Dr. Ayimbire Abonuusum has been a lecturer in Bolgatanga Technical University since February 2013. He holds a Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees, both in Biological Sciences from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana. He is a senior lecturer who has supervised many Higher National Diploma (HND) and Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) students’ project works. He was the Head of the Research and Development Department from September, 2016 to August 2018.

He has been the Dean of Degree Programmes from March, 2020 and participated in the development of curricular of new HND, B. Tech. and Master of Technology (M. Tech.) programmes introduced by the various departments of the university. He has been head of the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology since August 2021. He has served in diverse committees, chairing some of them.

Dr. Abonuusum attended an international conference organized by the German Society for Parasitology, Hamburg University, Hamburg, Germany, where he presented a poster on Malaria transmission. He also recently attended the 1th Applied Research Conference and Technology Fair organized by the Koforidua Technical University, where he jointly presented a paper with Mr. Akolgo Anaba James on the opportunities and challenges associated with the production and sale of guinea fowls and their products.
