Biography

Benjamin Azembila Asunka (PhD), a senior lecturer at the Bolgatanga Technical University, was born on June 29, 1979, had his basic education in Zuarungu in the Upper East Region of Ghana. He proceeded to the Bolgatanga Senior Secondary where he had his second cycle education in General Arts. From there he entered the Institute of Professional Studies, (now University of Professional Studies, Accra) where he pursued a professional course in Marketing and earned a Professional Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing, awarded by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK). He was employed as an instructor in the department of marketing at the then Bolgatanga Polytechnic in January 2008, and taught until October 2010 when he went back to do a Master of Business Administration at the University of Professional Studies, Accra. He came back to teach in the Polytechnic (now Bolgatanga Technical University) from September 2012 till September 2018 when he went to the Jiangsu University (China) to pursue his doctoral studies. In June 2021 he graduated with a PhD in Management Science and Engineering, with a focus on Innovation Management as his area of research. 

His research and publications are in the areas of indigenous innovation, green innovation, R&D, and sustainable innovations. He has the skills to analyse quantitative data involving econometric modeling and structural equation modeling.

While studying in Accra he took time off to learn other foreign languages including French and German (both spoken and written at an intermediate level).He also enrolled for a professional accountancy program with the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICA), Ghana, and is now a member of the ICA, Ghana as well as the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Ghana.
